First post in a while! I’ve left Hong Kong and went to Japan for a week with my family. Highlights of the trip:
People-watching the fashionable youth of Shibuya, one of Tokyo’s shopping districts. Sunglasses. Night. Weird!

Visiting lovely historical sites like Kiyomizu Temple and the Imperial Palace in Kyoto.

Keeping our eyes open for the ever-elusive geisha in Gion.

Eating meals like this…

And desserts like this…

Playing with costumes. Fear my samurai peacock helmet!

And staying in tatami rooms at hot springs resorts.

Japanese things always seem to be a little cute, weird, or both…

But I guess it’s just a crazy place.

I’m in Taiwan now. Jeff out.

hey jeff! since i know how annoying it is when people read your blog without leaving some mark, i thought i’d comment so you knew that i read it and be more than some elusive blog-reader! ;D
i know you posted this a while ago but i just read it. great photos and captions! that is so true, “Japanese things always seem to be a little cute, weird, or both…” haha. and the picture of shaved ice repulsed me and made me crave green tea ice cream at the same time. well done. i hope you ate the whole thing.
anyway i hope your trip was great even though it was half a year ago. hope you been doing well since then! happy holidays.
